Bio

My first foray into the world of romantic fiction was at the tender age of fourteen.  A friend and I had grand ideas of collaborating on a teen romance with heroines who bore some  (okay, a lot of) resemblance to us and heroes who were slightly older and of course handsome, gallant and in possession of driver’s licenses.  Sadly, we never finished it.   Our little summer project gave me my first taste of the joy, excitement and freedom of creating a fictional world of dialogue, characters and plot.  Since then, the dream and desire to write a book has only grown.

I did attend college for a few years with a vague idea that I might want to be a journalist one day.  Over time, I discovered the field was extremely competitive and perhaps wasn’t for me.  It is not lost on me that the ambition of becoming a published writer is perhaps just as daunting as becoming a journalist.  The big difference for me is that as an author, I have ultimate control over what I write and the freedom to use  creativity and emotion in my writing.

Plenty has happened since my college years but it can mostly summed up in a paragraph.  I met my husband at work and we had a lovely office romance.  A few years later we married and had two children.  It seems you lose time having children and that is the only explanation I have for putting off writing a book for this long.  I find time to write when the children are at school and when my hubby is sweet and takes it upon himself to entertain the kids.

The genre of romantic fiction is the one I have the most passion for.  It’s what I prefer to read and what I am the most comfortable writing.  There is nothing I love more than picking up a book and connecting with the characters, identifying with their emotions and asking myself what I would do if I were in their situation.  In my writing, I like to provoke thought, pull you through the emotional ups and downs of my characters and hopefully make you fall in love with the hero right along with my heroine.
