Excerpt Update!

It’s been a rough weekend for me. It started on on Thursday when I got a recall notice for my car. They suggested that I bring my car in for repair and then strongly advised me that until I could get in for an appointment, I park my car away from my home, as the engine might spontaneously burst into flames, even with the engine off. Burst. Into. Flames.

Less than 24 hours later, I’m at the dealership with my laptop, planning on working on my book. Except … I’ve lost pages. I had been anal about updating my super-duper back-up, my little USB drive, but not the more obvious hard drive. I lost my sex scene. Near tears, I virtually ripped the head off of the mechanic who asked if I’d like to go ahead and have my tune-up 6,000 miles early. I might have frightened him. And the other patrons in the waiting room.

So no pre-written blog for you guys today. For that, I am sorry. But It’s been almost two months since I updated the excerpt page for The Boy Next Door, which is my current manuscript. Click here to see what happens after Carter slams the door in Tessa’s face.

My heroine is having an embarrassing nearly naked moment. I’d like to hear about your most embarrassing moments, naked or otherwise!

I’m liking the story, very much. His thoughts made me chuckle.

      Thanks Rosa!

I don’t know why but I seem to have a fixation on writing dirty-minded male POV. My mother must be proud! ;)

      Thanks Joyce!

Glad it sucked you in. There’s one more section of the first chapter left to post … and we’ll get a hint of steam! Thanks so much for reading.

Thank you Jasmine, I’m glad you enjoyed it! And my car is no longer at risk of bursting into flames, thank God. As to the lost work? It’s always a heart break. Almost worse than losing words to editing. But I soldiered on and rewrote what I lost. It was a love scene, so as you can imagine, it was a REAL hardship! ;)

You know how much I love this story. The thought of lost pages makes me want to cry …

    1. magdalync says:

Thanks, Jill! I believe I *did* want to cry. But I was in public when I discovered the lost work so I held it in until I got home. There may have been tears…and a Big Mac involved. But I’m mostly recovered!
